DFL Ward 8 City Council candidates to debate April 22

Minneapolis City Council Ward 8 candidates Josh Bassais and Soren Stevenson have agreed to participate in a debate to take place at Martin Luther King Jr. Park Community Center on April 22, 2025 at 6:30 p.m. 

The debate will be moderated by Eric Harris Bernstein. 

Professional Somali and Spanish interpretation services provided by MNTIC (Minnesota Translator and Interpreter Cooperative. 

The debate is being planned by the Minneapolis DFL Ward 8 convention committee and is open to media and all Ward 8 residents. Both candidates are seeking the Minneapolis DFL endorsement. The Ward 8 convention will be held on Saturday, May 4 at Justice Page Middle School. Convention delegates are encouraged to attend to have an opportunity to hear from the candidates.
