New Nicollet phase 1 developer
The city council has authorized granting exclusive development rights to Trellis Co. for the first phase of private development at the New Nicollet former K Mart site. The project proposal includes 119 total affordable rental units, 40,000 square feet for the Boys and Girls Club of the Twin Cities, 5,000 square feet of commercial space, and 3,300 square feet for park board, as well as surface and underground parking.

1200 and 1204 E. Lake St
The city planning commission has approved the site plan for the new properties located at 1200 and 1204 E Lake St. This project would demolish the existing building, relocate the public art there, and construct a new seven-story building with 54 apartments, two first-floor commercial spaces.,18 underground parking spaces and two bicycle parking rooms. A site for the art has yet to be determined and more city approvals will be needed before construction can begin. Community engagement regarding the art relocation is expected to occur between May and August.
