Metro Transit, the City of Saint Paul, and Ramsey County have partnered to resurface Selby Ave between Snelling Ave. and Dale St. Work is set to begin May 11 and will last up to five (5) to six (6) weeks. Resurfacing work is expected to be complete by June 1. Ten days after resurfacing is completed, crews will return to stripe the new pavement.

METRO B Line and Route 72 buses will detour to Marshall Avenue while resurfacing work is completed (see map above).  There will be no ticket machines or Go-To readers on Marshall Ave between Snelling Ave. and Dale St. during the detour. B Line riders can pay their fare through the Metro Transit app or at their destination station.

Parking restrictions will be in place on both sides of Selby Ave between Snelling Ave. and Dale St. and the first two spots at every cross street. Lane closures will also be in place while the resurfacing work is completed. Lane and parking restrictions will be removed as paving progresses through the work area.

Hamline Ave. between Selby and Ashland avenues will also be detoured during this time, and the connection between Ayd Mill Rd. and Selby Ave. will be detoured for approximately one day.

Roadway striping will start 10 days after paving is completed. Some lane shifts will be required to paint the road centerline and crosswalks, but no lane closures are expected. Parking will be restricted on Selby Ave. between Lexington Pkwy. and Dale St. for 2 to 3 nights to allow work to be completed.

Access to businesses and residential dwellings will be maintained along the corridor during the resurfacing project.

Lake-Marshall Bridge
Fiber work on the Lake-Marshall Bridge has begun and will last for about five more weeks. The bus-only lane on the bridge, as well as the sidewalk and bike lane on the north side of the bridge, will be closed for the duration of this work. Traffic control is set up in the area and will be removed for weekend events.
